The Littlest Man Room

I am so excited to be sharing this new space in our home with you. At the beginning of my pregnancy I had so many ideas for a new nursery - for a new girl nursery. After finding out we would be expecting out littlest man all my previous ideas had to be scratched for a new manly space. With some inspiration from Pinterest, a creative mind and a lot of hard work this is what we put together. I hope out little man likes it as much as we do.

Bye-Bye Coffee! You will not be missed!

I HEART COFFEE!

I love the way it smells
I love the way it tastes
I even love the way it looks!

But I do not love how addicted to coffee I can become and I do NOT love what it does to my body!

So...................once again............................ I want to give it up!

Normally this would come with many tears but I have found a new love...

Yum.

My mama, such a wise woman, was so kind to bring a bag of this to me durring her visit. And it is GOOD! Now all I have to say is....
I HEART TEECCINO!

Tithing - Book Review

Tithing has always been an interesting concept for me. From the time I was young I was taught to give to the Lord what is the Lord’s. I was taught whatever blessings we have come from above and to give back to the Lord 10% of what was earned. I have followed this practice since I was young, and even in tough times the Lord has proven faithful to provide. I chose to read and review Tithing by Douglas LeBlanc because the subject has been on my mind and heart lately. Tithing is a journalistic account of giving back to the Lord in action. Each chapter tells of a person he interviewed about their tithing story and God's faithfulness. While it is a great blessing to hear of God’s faithfulness, I found the book very difficult to read which resulted in very little motivation to pick it up. Though the stories did speak of God’s faithfulness in day to day life they did not speak to me of the mighty works God can accomplish. It also seems as if the author comes from a deeply Episcopalian background.  And while there is nothing wrong with this, it made portions of the book hard for me to follow. Despite the difficulty I had in reading this book the fundamental truth the book presents is not only valid but encouraging. The Lord calls us to give back with a willing and pure heart and when we do he proves faithful. After all, what father does not want to give their children good gifts?

Love a Deal!

As a new mom people love to give you clothes for baby. You are showered with new born clothes.  I soon found out baby does not stay a new born forever and eventually grows out of these clothes. Because Asher is so small I have been able to stay away from buying clothes for him for a lot longer than expected.  But as Asher grows he is now quickly running out of clothes. Thankfully, the Lord's blessings in this area have continued!

If you are from Albuquerque and are a parent you are sure to have heard of a store called "Other Mothers." It is here that you can buy used children’s clothes for just a few dollars. I have now found that this is overpriced! Say what? Let me explain. Every Saturday Other Mothers has two sales. The first is a 25 cent sale. This is basically a mad dash to find clothes in your baby's size for just a quarter an item (be careful not to get an elbow in your eye because it is a bit crowded). The next sale that starts later in the day is a dollar a bag sale. It is this sale that I was able to come away with some fantastic loot! I paid just $2.14 for all of the clothes pictured below (baby not included). So, if you do not mind sifting through piles and piles of clothes (no organization whatsoever) to find something, untorn, unstained and in the size you need it is an amazing way to stock a very empty closet. It is amazing what you can fit into a bag when you really try!
I have to say Asher is quite excited about all his new clothes!
